The real question is why wouldn't you choose this book. Look at the title: Ghetto Cowboy. It attracted me instantly. At first I thought it was just funny, I thought this is going to be ridiculous. Then I skimmed through it and saw a picture in the back of a cover of the Life magazine. The cover was a picture of an African-American boy with a horse, the caption tells us that people living in the rough neighborhoods of North Philly and Queens New York have had experience with horses. When I picked it out I thought it was going to be the story of the boys who played polo and are now attending highly regarded colleges. But never the less this story should be interesting and inspiring.
